Looks like there is more than one Sicard......Jacques, Frederick   ???

Also came across more hits using Vallauris Sicard, this being one......

Noticed that some of these pieces have place names. Could your AVI ??? be AVIGNONET ?

You all have my curiosity so high I am taking it to the library today, with the info you have given and perhaps a good book I will find out finally

I sincerely thank all of you and if I find out anything I'll let you know--pls if you still find more pls post I'll have my lap top at the library with me.

just so you know the library was a bust, the librarian gave me the kovel book of antiques but I did have a good day on the board with all kinds of good answers to my pottery
