Karma/hero member

how does one gain karma on this site? Also how does one move from new user to hero member, or anything in between?

Welcome to the forum , Bowtieguy22 .

As far as changing the 'type' of member one is , it's just related to the number of postings that member has put on the forum website .

I believe a member has to "click" on the 'karma' buttons , for a particular post/member , in order to 'transfer' + or - karma .

Honestly, I think most of us have forgotten about clicking the karma button. It's brand new around here so we haven't really taken hold of it yet.

    I like the karma button and use it when ever someone amazing finds the answer, matter of fact just gave one to Rauville for finding the answer to the clamp, not sure I like the smite button though, can't find a reason I would ever click that.

That's a good idea to use it when someone comes up with a good answer. I like that idea. We could use the smite button to identify spammers, but it would be a bummer if we accidently used it on someone with good intentions.

On your left under your name  Applaud gives one point for someones post that has an answer or explanation you like or find helpful or just interesting !! Then the point goes into that persons Karma !!  But suppose a spammer just wants to direct you to another site ,, you could use the Smite !!  Many of the posts are interesting here and lately I have forgotten to use the applaud !! Will try to remember !!

I dont think I have access to applaud or smite anyone, the courser doesn't change into a hand when I place it over the karma area

I don't think I have access to Karma either. I think I read somewhere you have to have at least 100 post (or something like that) to use Karma.

Thats possible !! I seem to remember something about having a few posts before being able to do that,, but not sure !!  However,, thats a good reason for sticking around here and joining in the discussions !!

I was wondering why my avatar disappeared. When I first joined I had this little frog by my screen name and he just vanished. Maybe he hopped off the page or ran off with the other frog. I notice avatars are not that popular on this forum so I never tried to go get him and bring him back. Seven Seas has one and so do a few others but not like the forum I moderate where crazy avatars run rampant.

Darn Frog !! Don`t know why he would want to leave unless he had a cute little girl frog !!   That might have happened when we had problems with the site !! Took them a couple of days to get it fixed !!  I would just try to find the little hopper and persuade him to come home !!
