How Old are These Old Candle Stick Holders?
« on: May 12, 2012, 10:44:18 pm »
I purchased this pair of old candle stick holders the other day because I thought they were neat/unique and didn't think they were too valuable.

They are about 6 3/4 Inches in Height and the Base is about 3 Inches in Width. The base or core metal is made of pot metal/spelter, then they were coated with copper and coated again with either gold or brass. It wouldn't make too much sense to plate copper and then brass would it?

Anyways, they look and feel very old, my guess would be the 1800's but I really don't know. Perhaps a more experienced eye could tell me what they think the age or vintage and perhaps origin of them might be.

Thanks!
Kevin

Nope !! Just a gold paint finish maybe mid century !! Pattern is not very deep and precise so probably inexpensive back then !!
