Old Tool Chests
« on: May 08, 2012, 07:01:17 am »
I found these in the cellar. I believe they were made by my step-grandfather from converted wooden crates and fashioned into tool boxes. One is 20" wide, 15" deep and 9.5" tall and says Octagon Soap on the sides; the other is 18" x 13" x 8.5". They both have hardware in them. I am going to put them out at my next garage sale and wanted to know a good ballpark value to put on them. Thanks.

Build a frame to set the one that says Octagon Soap in and make it coffee table height or end table high and you may have a winner !!  And be sure to check that hardware !!  As is,, maybe $20. to $30. here in the south with everything in it !!

It could be because California has inflated prices on almost everything, but I would pay $40-$50 for a cool old tool box with the contents.
Take every price I say with a grain of salt...
