I have a Capidamonte bowl that has a "big lip fish" on the lid
the bowl is ornate with lots of moss ... a little cottage painted in the sides, and the flowers on it...
I saw a larger version on the Antiques Road Show several yrs ago. The program was going off as I entered the room and heard the quote for the value of this dish..and was shocked... I have one almost exactly like that..only a smaller version. My bowl is evedently a "scent" dish.. as there are small diamond shape cut outs on the bowl
On the bottom it is hand painted Italy
One the bottom is the number " 647 B i s. "
what does this 647 B i s. mean??
I also remember hearing them say on the program that the artist was known for the use of moss and the cottage...and that the big lip fish was put on many of his pieces....though I have never found anything even similar to this....
