Turkish Copper tray
« on: June 05, 2012, 05:58:48 pm »
We had a solid copper tray that I need to get a price on. It was pretty much destroyed in a house fire last year and all I have is a not-so-good photo post-fire. I need to somehow figure the value for the insurance claim but I have no idea whom to ask.

The tray was custom-made by hand from a solid copper ingot about 1950. There were stamped in designs all around it. If it had been smaller it might have actually been useful but it quite large. It was around four feet in diameter and was fairly heavy, maybe 40-50 lbs?

Anyone with any ideas on this one?

Thanks,

Mike

Without an appraisal before the fire so the two could be compared,,, about the best you can do is melt value !!

You are probably right! I hated the thing anyway as it just never fit anywhere in the house.
