Please help me identify these pieces
« on: June 24, 2012, 06:29:39 pm »
I have two porcelain sculptures which currently sit on lamp bases, but they are detachable from the bases. They are a set - one man, one woman. The man appears to be an 18th century aristocrat. The woman, a cleaning lady. They appear to be flirting. They are approximately 20" tall and exquisitely sculpted and detailed. I think the sticker indicates "Andrea S." There are signatures and other markings, but I can't make out what they say. Please see the posted photos.

My mother bought them from an old woman in the mid-1980s. The woman said she had them for a long time. That's all I know about them.

Is there anything anyone can tell me about these pieces including approximate value?

Thanks.

KC

Believe your lamp was made by Andrea by Sadek. Import company founded in 1936.

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Thank you.  Any idea as to value, or any advice on how I might find that information beside hiring an appraiser?
