Roseville Pottery

I also found these two very interesting pieces and they both seem to be Roseville although different marks.  I looked through a number of patterns and was not able to find these exact ones.  One is a short little squat vase and the other a bowl.  I wouldn't know exact descriptors and if anyone could help with that it would be great.

Would anyone have any information on possible dates and possible value?  Again I am starting to think I want to keep and collect all of these vintage and antique finds but not room for everything

A bowl similar to yours is being sold on Ruby Lane for $90. How big is it?

That top pic does not look like any Roseville I have ever seen and that does not look like their early R mark nor is it their style or colors !!  Look up Roseville fakes and reproductions !!  Bottom,, need to match against known originals !!  Roseville is often faked !!  If it was cheap,, look for repro !!

Ok thanks - I will look that up.  The  Rv is not real crisp, almost like it bleeds together but then again my picture taking doesn't do it any justice either.  I will keep looking under both real Roseville and fake.  Thanks for the info!!  It is helpful either way because I didn't know real Roseville was worth anything originally either. When I looked at these I thought they were different - ugly actually - and when I see a different stamp mark I just start googling  LOL

Where I am in Texas it has held value pretty well and there are still die hard collectors that will buy the better pieces !! The thing is most everyone knows Roseville so even garage sale prices are not cheap !!

Your small "vase" appears to be a candle holder in the Snowberry pattern from the 1946 era.
Value might be in the $15-20 range for a single one.

Thanks everyone.  Now I am skeptical about both pieces  LOL  Although the top piece does have the Rv stamp on the bottom it isn't crisp and has that extra stamp line like someone had too much ink on an inkpad.  It does appear to be under the glaze but I am not sure how to tell positively.   I did look up a number of fake and reproduction marks and I did not see any fake Rv marks yet anyway.   

The small little vase or candle holder matches the genuine marks however when I read through information on fakes and repros v. genuine it said the real pieces had very clear painting.  This one also looks as if the painting is not precise.  For instance on the white "berry" portion, you can see brown paint on the berry as well as if someone "went outside the lines" in coloring  LOL.

While it would be great if they were both original - I certainly don't want to sell them as such if I am not sure so for now I will find a spot on what has become my "vintage" display shelves.

Both of these pieces are authentic Roseville pottery.  The bowl is a Florentine pattern from the mid '20s and has the correct mark.  Current value at auction is $30-$50, at retail $50-$80.  The candleholder is Snowberry and has an auction value of $10-$20, and double for retail (value could be lower as they're usually sold in pairs.)  The "paint" outside the lines is glaze run and happens very often in Roseville pottery pieces, and in some patterns is prized.  Hope that helps.

Thanks for the clarification, Bob !!  Glad to have you join us !! That top piece is a new one on me !! I have not seen that style before and the R was not exactly like the examples shown !! Was very skeptical of it since Roseville has a few imposters out there !!  I am not a pottery person as you can tell !!

Well I did get $20 for the candle holder so I guess that's pretty close to predictions     Thanks for the help!

Well isn't much true and luckily I didn't pay a dime for any of these items.  They were all left to me and although I would like to keep them all - not exactly a possibility unless I want to keep renting storage units  LOL
