Bamboo Teapot
« on: August 15, 2012, 12:54:13 am »
Hello there! My mom recently purchased a teapot from a garage sale for my grandma and I was wondering if anyone new anything about it.  I have attached some photos.  The teapot has no markings so I assume it's not worth much but it would be neat to find out anything about it.  Thanks!

I believe what you have is a wonderful Majolica Bamboo teapot. Many Majolica pieces are unmarked and can be worth thousands of dollars. Try contacting this site to see if they can help.   good luck & let us know what you find out.  :)

found this one but I think they have it priced very low to sell

Good one, Wendy, I shudda thought of Majolica when I looked at that post earlier this morning.

I knew it had "the looks" of a good one ...... and my first thought was possibly Roseville but the handle didn't look "right".

Interesting piece! Very distinctive, and worth a tidy sum as well.

Thanks a lot guys! I just e-mailed the website with attached photos.  I will let you guys know when they reply.  My grandma will be very excited!  I believe my mom only paid 5 bucks for it.

So I just heard back from the website and the lady says that it is a modern fake one. Too bad, still an interesting piece though even if it's not worth much haha.  Thanks for all your help!

Sorry you've got a fake, though you certainly didn't overpay. Somehow, I feel a little better... :D

I was thinking reproduction when I first saw and then read down....

Sorry.

Quality isn't there!

But it still looks nice!
