something to keep your Tootsies warm
« on: August 22, 2012, 04:55:45 am »
It never ceases to amaze me what people throw out,I went to our local civic amenity skips today to dump garden waste, and whilst there, a woman was in the process of dumping a box of unwanted items...before she had achance to dump the box into a skip, i rescued a few items....one stone ware hot water bottle..and 2 x liquor measures,....liquor...where did that come from....God, I,m becoming Americanised LOL,
one is a 1/2 gill measure and the smaller one is a 1/5th of a gill, they are both made of pewter,
and they have the makers name on the underside
Harry Mason Ltd,Birmingham...which will be UK..and not Alabamha
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Love this style of foot warmer!  They were also referred to as pig warmers - because they resembled the snout of a pig!

You will find that this style is much more prevalent on your side of the pond than ours!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
