Antique telephone on a marble table and brass pedistal
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:35:45 pm »
Hi,
I read a post just now on a lady that had and antique telephone (her posting was sometime ago).
I did not see any information on it - so here is my question; I have just received an antique telephone with rotary dial, mounted on a marble table top with a brass pedestal.
On mine is a sticker that has the model #, and serial number and the possible statement of Ross trading......
Can anyone give me any answers as to the age, origin or any possible info on this piece?

It is very hard to tell from your picture.

They made these in the early to mid 1900's and they were big imports.

Such as Evertone (Taiwan).

I would say my link is a reasonable indication as to the age of yours and its possible value...

Wullie, in my neck-o-the-woods these are not top sellers, but when they do sell here in the South, they average $75 - $80.

Well KC...if thats the case then this seller in the Bronx is in for a shock...but...ebay is a fickle place...and as i always say...if its not eating anything....then it only takes one to buy it....but if they are desperate...then it may be a long haul....

I agree with you,...what someone thinks their items worth and what they actually get...is like chalk & cheese....that one in the Bronx ended with no sale...javascript:void(0);

......the English language has so many variations....and  up here in Scotland...we have sayings that....no one else has..and its the same all over the UK....and most likely in the US also....."just like some people can,t see green cheese....but they want..some".
