A "What Is This" topic from a new guy.

I have no idea what this object is. I don't know what its use was. It may not even be that old but I've exhausted all my avenues trying to figure it out so now i've come to you guys/gals. It appears to be some sort of jig but that's all I've got...
measurements: a little over 2 feet tall and exactly 8 5/8" wide at the top and bottom (says so right there  ;) )

If anyone has info on the "W" looking logo, that would be helpful too.

Were are you located?  Are we looking in the U.S. or elsewhere?  That will help.

OK, Rauville. . . what's your secret?  Are you familiar with the logo or did you do a google search?  I tried to search for W logos, but didn't have time to search oil drilling companies.
