So far I have found nothing to indicate Nebraska as a possibility but this is a long list and haven`t had much time to look today !!  I am (like Ghopper) looking at Grand Rapids as a likely candidate !!

I'm still trying to understand what you wrote Wullie.  I know i have trouble hearing some people talk with thick Scottish or Irish accents...but I find myself leaning closer to the computer to try and understand you writing with your brogue!  LOL

So, is firewood or coal so scare there that you really go to auctions to get furniture?

Hi KC,...I shall write this so that you don,t have to lean closer to your PC..i would,nt want you straining your neck...Its not that firewood/coal is scarce...its just that over here its so damned expensive...here are some examples of cost...Kerosene heating oil...1000litres = $1112.6940....1 ton coal = $232,...1 ton firewood, can range from...$120 for soft wood...and up to $300 for seasoned hardwood...Natural Gas...is very expensive..as is Electricity...Our average bill for Electric is £800.per year...and propane gas for our cooker..works out at $50 for a 19kg bottle and we use 4 per year...but for me to get a big van load of furniture...approx 3 ton...which last for a couple of months is only $50...the above prices are based on a 2 bed small house...i,ve got a friend who has a big 4 bed..with 3 reception rooms, and he goes through 3000litres of kerosene a year..then there,s the Electric cost on top...average..$2500 per year....then there,s our petrol/ diesel which is $2.40 per litre.....So you see it is expensive to run a car and heat your home...on the + side...we have free medical care for life....free dental, free eye care..so there is some advantages about living here...
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

KC, it'll work better iffen you just squint your eyes  and keep reading. Don't stop just because the words look to be misspelled, .... let your subconscious mind figgure it out and tell you what Wullie wrote.

Here, read the following "quickly", ... no pausing, to wit:

Olny srmat poelpe can raed tihs. I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt! if you can raed tihs psas it on !!"

T'was easy huh?

But now if you try to read these words,

ltteer
mses
wouthit
iprmoetnt
istlef
raed
bcuseae
wrod
porbelm
frist
huamn
lsat

not so easy, huh?

And they are the same ones as in the above paragraph.

Thank you Mart for taking the time to look into this.  This chair has a lot of sentimental value to many people in my family.

We aren't giving up on it dawnie_m77....so always check back.  We have things that have gone unsolved for a very long time and all of a sudden someone figures it out.
