Myself Mart.  I didn't think this was a true (original) Biedermeier...but on made in the "fine style" that is represented in estates.  That is where the ebony comes in...and did know that true Biedermeiers rarely had ebonized woods!

Well, Rarely doesn`t mean they never did !! But even the better reproductions,,(seems to me) would have taken more care in matching that wood on the front !!  I am not saying it isn`t a really nice piece of furniture,, it is !!  But sometimes when I look at a piece of furniture it just hits me that something isn`t right !!  May take me a while to figure it out though !!

Actually if you look closely, the entire piece is bookmatched, it's a complete mirror from left to right including the stiles and rails of the doors.

I contacted Ritter Antik, thanks very much for the link, that website is a great find.  I hope they will take the time to answer back.
