What is this furniture piece?
« on: March 03, 2013, 04:26:21 pm »
This piece of furniture was given to me by a family member but neither one of us know much about it. It was originally in my grand parents house. I have been told it is called a chinoiserie. I would like to know what it actually is, where it might have come from and the date that it may have been made. I have done some extensive research already but I have not been able to come up with much if anything that helps me.  It is a very nice piece that I want to display in my home. Any information that someone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It's a small credenza.

Would need more / clearer pics to confirm age

Chinoiserie refers to the decorative artwork on the case !!  Looks like a German or Swedish design from what I can see in these pics !!  Can we get some close ups !!  Its a very nice piece !!

If you use your computer and resize from your picture card  1000KB is a smaller file size than directly from your phone or camera !!  They do fine up to 2000KB that way !!  Or at least mine do !!

A beautiful piece, but not antique.
