Blue Tinted Glass Need ID
« on: March 30, 2013, 01:25:56 pm »
Hey All,

another glass mystery, don't know anything at all about these.

They were on my great-grandma's dresser for years, at least 50 I would say, and probably a lot longer than that as well.

There's no markings on any of the pieces, and searching for blue glass sets on websites doesn't seem to bring up anything that matches.

There is a tray, 2 bowls with lids, a larger bowl with lid, 2 candlesticks, and an odd shallow bowl with a raised point in the middle.

Couldn't even hazard a guess as to its use.

I've only got a couple of pictures of these, as we've packed them back up, but I could probably use an editor to zoom in on any parts of interest.

Note that one of the small bowls has has the point of its lid snappen off, and some slight damage on its base, but other than that it is in perfect condition.

As they were on the dining table at the time, they are placed on a standard placemat, which should give an indication of scale.

Photo's below:

Thats a beautiful set !!  I believe the bowl with the post is a ring bowl !!  Others are for bath powder, cotton balls or whatever !!

Please post photos of tray pattern with nothing on it, also begin to search for just vintage candle holders or vintage powder jars to see if you can find a match, as many sets did not survive in tack. Will begin my search  ;)

The candlesticks are similar to a Cambridge pattern.
