Questions about dumbbell and wall hanging
« on: March 29, 2013, 05:51:22 pm »
I think this thing looks really cool.  It weighs 50lbs.  There's not a makers mark on it.  Would you list it (ebay) with the rust or try to clean it off?

Do you think the wall hanging is anything special?  It looks like part of a quilt that was framed.

The dumbbell has that classic cartoon look. I'd say 1890s - 1910 era.

The wall hanging looks like 1960s - 70s.

I would say the dumbbell could be older 1890!

In don`t think I have ever seen a 50 lb one handed dumbbell !!  Wonder if this one could have come from a carnival or similar sideshow !!  Believe me,, thats the weight of one of my feed sacks,, that would be tough to lift one handed for most !!
