Grandmothers old Armoire

Hi everyone
Can somebody tell me anything about this Armoire it was my Grand mothers and has been in the family for awhile. I've started to restore it but I stop because I don't know weather to stain it of paint it.

I suggest, ... actually highly recommend that you stain it and then put 2 coats of semi-gloss finish on it.

And then if you decide you don't like the stain, ..... you can paint it.

And then if you or some future owner ever decides they don't like it painted, ....... then the paint can be easily removed. ;D ;D

I believe it was Sears Roebuck in the early 1900's that first came up with the term: "Chiffonrobe", from a combination of the terms chiffonier and wardrobe.
Up until WWII they were a popular piece of furniture for anyone in an older home without closet space.

You mean,, you are refinishing it ??  There is a difference !!  Restoration is doing the least that you can to preserve a piece !!  Refinishing is what you are doing !!   Yours is a pretty common late 20`s, 30`s or so wardrobe !!
