Glass Tube ID Help

Hoping someone can tell me what this is. It is a glass tube with metal caps that screw on both ends. One cap has a crimped tip on it and the other cap is open on the end. Inside both caps are filters. It is about 8.75 inches long. Thanks in advance!

Where did you get this  ??  Reminds me of old style fuel filter,, maybe for a tractor or old gas pump !!

Estate sale find. That would make sense, the guy was a mechanic among other things in his lifetime. Now if I could find a pic of another one and find out just what it goes on.

Good luck with that !!  But look for pre 1950 stuff !!  Just not sure how far pre,, it would be !!  Not even sure it is !!

I think these were designed to attach to the hose when used on the exhaust side of a vacuum cleaner. Filled with moth flakes, you could fumigate your clothes, furniture, automobile, etc. Some are marked, some are not.

I don`t guess they did that in the south !!  Have never seen one !!  I was thinking of the glass window on an old style pump or on that order !!
