My grandmother just told me a couple weeks ago that Mao Zedong once wrote and signed some personalized calligraphy for her and it is framed in her house in China. After asking some relatives, apparently, its in perfect conditions. I don't have pictures yet but I should have some as soon as my relatives send them to me. Roughly translated, the words translate to "Study well and work hard". I am 100% sure it's authentic and there's a picture of Mao writing it for my grandmother in an old photo album I found. It's not dated, but my grandmother says it's from sometime in the middle of the Cultural Revolution. Can anyone give me an idea of what it is worth? I would never sell it, but was wondering if it would be worth insuring and/or shipping it over to the US, as the house (in Beijing) is probably not a safe place to put it. Please help, I haven't found anything being sold online like it.
