believe it to be tin type with porcelain (not totally sure of that)  inside larger cup sized more modern and very nicely made

It looks like enamel to me?

Similar mug with similar but not same mark http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Made-In-Poland-Brown-Enamel-Mug-/130939228707
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

melanie you are right enamel is what it is, and that cup is very close in materials--

hi mart--perhaps it is studio art?  PS did you go thru the heat wave last week we did?

Its a pretty common enamel tinware !!  Doubt its  being a studio piece !!  Most all are manufactured !!  Its kind of like our old granite ware and those old white enamel sauce pans my grandmother cooked in !!  Same method of manufacture !!

Wasn`t very hot here !!  Only got to 104 !!   ;D

I have a couple pieces of older eastern European porcelain that I cook with. They are all good quality and heavy. Thats why i like them and use them.
