Bonanza?
« on: August 27, 2013, 12:52:24 pm »
Has anyone bought or sold anything from Bonanza.com (previously Bonanzle). I'm interested to know how it compares to Ebay and Etsy. I have only just heard of it so I guess that is not good sign.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

I just looked at the website once but it didn`t have enough traffic to suit me !! For occasional sellers ebay is still your best bet !! High end antiques,,Ruby Lane !! Store type selling,,Etsy !!  Haven`t found anything to compare to these three !!

I have bought and sold there but very slow traffic.  It may eventually get better but bot much has happened in the past 2 years.

Interesting never heard of Gumtree before.  I looked it up and it is just like our Craigslist.com.

I'd never heard of it before, just had a quick look and it seems to be a US site?
Also seems to have a lot of over-priced items.

I was looking at it for old textiles Mario and they seem to be quite global. Lots from India, Canada and Australia. I don't mind lack of traffic in a way because all these sites have to start somewhere and the quieter ones need support if there is ever going to be any competion to Ebay. I don't understand people who moan about selling on Ebay but refuse to support a site that is more reasonable because it hasn't built up to a decent size, they never will without seller support! I don't mean you Mario. But I hear it, round here all the time, yawn.
I will continue with Ebay and Etsy but I will also try others and hope eventually other people will too.

Gumtree is not the same at all.

We have Craislist in the UK too, it hasn't taken off the same here. People tend to use the well marketed sites such as preloved and gumtree if selling a sofa or bike etc.

Sorry Icedgold I missed your post. As someone who has actually given it a go, did you find buying from there ok?

I had good experiences with the sellers there.  I still go on there and look for things.  I use it as a back up selling place right now until it gains ground.  I think it will be a contender at some point.
