Your guarantee, a superior product
« on: October 25, 2013, 02:16:32 pm »
I have just picked up a dressing table / kidney desk at a house clearance. On the back is  a blue label with gold lettering "Your guarantee, a superior product". It has ball and claw feet , a serpentine front and a scalloped apron. Any ideas on how to date it and who the manufacturer is would be appreciated.

This is indeed a Kidney shaped dressing table....its just a pity you did,nt get the mirror that goes with it....the mirror would have had a centre and two wings...it may have attached at the rear...or it could have been a stand alone....I,d date this from 1920+...value...without the mirror...£50ish

If I were to guess I would say the maker was Superior Furniture Company, Grand Rapids, MI !!  But their bedroom furniture wasn`t introduced till the 40`s and that is likely when yours was made !! They made fine quality reproductions !!   They are now a part of Kindle Furniture Company and still making quality reproduction furniture !!
