Rocking Horse - Old or Not?
« on: November 23, 2013, 11:51:42 am »
Hi:
I was hoping someone out there could give me some information on this rocking horse that was given to me.  I searched the internet and the few books I have an antiques and can not find anything.  I was told it was old and made in Germany, but I am not so sure.  The platform is wood.  The horse is covered in a cloth like material and the snout and hoofs are wood.  The lower part of the saddle is like a thin leather and the seat is a soft padded velvet material.  The floor to the seat is about 24 inches.  Thank you so much for any information you can provide me.

Welcome to the forum.
Looks German in origin to me, and maybe dating back to the 1950's+.

Thank You Rauville for your help - I was able to do some more research with that info and I believe it is from the 1950 to early 1960's and made in Germany.

Also realize that many people get the leather replaced because of wear/cracking!
