Bible Box Question(s)

Jacon4, take a look at Icedgold10`s post,,"What is this exactly" !! Its another wood box but not as big as this !!  See if you have an idea about it !!  Don`t think its American,,looks European to me but you might have an idea of its use !! If other than what we already know !!

Neat "Bible box"! I feel like the heavy carving could indicate it was Mexican or Spanish? As mentioned, a copy of an earlier style?

A little FYI if you have a family Bible that you plan to keep in this box, put a layer of acid-free tissue in there to protect your Bible from the acidic properties of the wood.

I'll try to post the dimensions of the box on Friday or so, I had to work in the Bahamas this weekend and the box is at my house in Florida.  Won't be home until then....
