NEEDING HELP with this silver mark Please Please Please :)

I am needing help with this silver mark....it is driving me batty (no comments Wullie!)

I have seen this type of marking on porcelain....just can't find any on this item (silver plated condiment set) I have been eyeing for awhile.

Someone thought it was for Elkington, but have never seen an Elkington mark like this!!!

Any help appreciated!!! :)

1870.

Is that bottom mark a G ?


where are my manners - it's the second variant of the registration mark on UK items, applicable from 1868-1883. Top mark is day of the month, so 17 here. Bottom mark is the month ( ? ) and the right is the Date letter - C for 1870.
The left mark is the " bundle " and the very top mark refers to the category or genre of the item.

The number on the bottom looks like a 16 when I try and blow it up!  Not a letter.

I saw all those,, we are talking about the bottom !!  See if you can blow that one up enough to see clearly !! Its kind of smudged looking !!

No need to feel sorry for Avril....she lost her sense of smell 4 years ago....after a viral infection....or so she says.....but....i.m beginning to wonder....cos now and again she lets slip...like yesterday..when she said..."have you been smoking in the house.."...to which I replied....Meeee... .Never....then when i asked her if her sense of smell was returning....she said no....".I just thought i could smell smoke"..... ;D
