Carved painting off a nude lady

This is a nude painted on wood and carved in . At the back not easy to read Toulouse and 1936 and a autograph . But in pencil and very hard to read . So who is able to tell me a bit more like the name on the front etcetera..

Just pressed the picture back a bit from the frame and here's the total name .   :)

Just got through looking at this guy !! Born in Vienna,,art historian died in 1965 !! May be another with same name somewhere but I didn`t see where this one was an artist himself !! Hope I got that info right !!

Nice find but now it would be nice to have something with his handwriting to compare with the autograph on the painting .
And what is the link to Toulouse written on the back maybe ? And is there more paintings made as this one so painted and the cut's in the wood as outlining in this style

Was hoping to see that R there for the reason Mart gave. Can't see an artist with the same name. I would have expected someone who studied Florentine painting to have done something differently but if it is by him, then it's obviously more valuable.

Might just be an amateur with the same surname as the historian, but let's hope for the best.

Offner did visit Toulouse though.

There are letters of his in various libraries mentioned online. You should contact some of them and request an image.

That would be nice indeed if it's by him as a private work made . She's in my collection for years now and one off the only nudes allowed in the house according to my wife  :D. But how to find out more ?
