Antique Optometrists utensil?
« on: February 26, 2014, 05:57:30 pm »
Hey guys,

I got this from a friend in Germany who said he was informed that Optometrists used them once upon a time. Have never come across it and an older Optometrist friend I have in Australia hasn't seen it before either.

Anyone seen one before?

Brent

I seem to remember seeing something like this before used for perception/astigmatism in early 1900's.

Found an illuminated one here in the US - Illuminated Eye Test from 1930's.

Update:  Just Found a site that explains the use/purpose of the testing

Modifying again!!!

FOUND SOME!  Called a PLACIDO DISC

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
