Welcome to the forum!

You have a gorgeous vintage/antique? Berry Basket or Fruit Basket.  This is known as a reticulated basket.  Can you tell the history on this piece where you got it from?  Family History?

Can you please tell what kind of metal it is...first appearance is silverplate...but not "typical" silver makers marks there.  Is it aluminum?  White metal?  Pewter?  Can you please post a picture of the entire bottom of the piece?

It is possible this is what is known as Old Sheffield Plate, because they did make one that the maker's mark was a open hand.Where are you located?  (Open hand used by J Watson & Company, N Smith & Co, Smith & Co, Padley, Parkin & Company)  If it is, then it is worth more than modern day silver plated items.  (At which point I would recommend you get a hands on inspection from a reputable source>)

Also, Can you please give the dimensions.
