mid century rare table lamp

Hi, I see this table lamp. In very bad conditions. But I remember see this lamp in a book or catalog. With plants in the low part.
Any know or see this before?

What material is it made of?
Reminds me of those "Magic Plantern" lamps from the 60's and 70's, where you would touch the plant to turn the lamp on/off. ???

I think it is exactly what you are saying it is. What concerns me is the two switches to light the top and bottom. Water and electricity are not going to get UL listing. My guess is it had artificial flowers in it t one time that lit from the bottom. Fake plastic flower were popular decoration in the 50s. The white cord and plastic pressure switches would date it mid century as you said Michaela.
