Ironstone platter w/blue decorations
« on: May 04, 2008, 06:10:53 pm »

This platter I’ve had for several years and have yet to find out anything about it, thus I am just calling it Ironstone. It is in perfect condition and quite old as one can see by the “age cracks” in the picture of the bottom/back side.

The platter is 15 ½ inches by 11 ¼ inches.

Would appreciate knowing the pattern, ….. maker, …… etc.

Thanks much.

Not ironstone.

This looks like something that was made in China for the Dutch market. I love this, Cogar. Quite unusual.

Would you like an offer for it ? ;D

Oh, .... wow, ..... I'll hafta ask the wife about that.

HA,  ;D ;D iffen I say "yes" ..... then that sets a value on it.

Anyway, the only thing I can see on the bottom that looks like maybe a "mark" .... but is probably just a weird "crazing" pattern is pictured below.

Ipcress, Violet said she didn't want to sell her platter caused she had too much money invested in it.  ;D

Anyway, I thought I would show everyone where she keeps that platter stored at and doing little more than a collecting dust n' grease ........ and the reason she has left it sitting there all these past many years.

Oh yeah, we stopped at a house out in the country one day and the lady told her that if she liked that platter she could have it for $5.  ;)
