Complaint filed against "Pawn Stars"
« on: March 13, 2014, 04:30:24 pm »
Interesting article about a criminal complaint filed against Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, the store owned by Rick Harrison and family, stars of the HBO series "Pawn Stars". I don't see any negligence or criminal activity on the part of the pawn shop. To me, the case should be against the man's niece who stole his coin collection and sold it to the shop. If the info in the article is correct, it sounds to me like the shop was operating within the law. What do you guys think?

At least its just a complaint and not a lawsuit. Although the suit would never stick or hold up in court due to the fact that they were following Nevada laws.

Their popularity will always put them under a magnified glass for situations like this.

Thanks for sharing!

Someone just thinks they can get more money from them.  No chance, they played by the rules.

Pawn Stars has been in business a long time, and I think they know what the laws are. The Pawn Stars and the man robbed were both victims. Beckman knew she needed ID and showed it. Watkins could be lying.  He never noticed them missing for a long while.

"...contained such rarities as a 1903 St. Gaudens $20 gold piece..."

Well, just goes to show you that even the Harrisons aren't that smart. Since the St. Gaudens twenty dollar coin wasn't issued until 1907, they probably melted down a million dollars! ;D ;)

Agree Talesof...they sound as if they operated within the law!  They were both taken!
