Dec 7th 1941 Newpaper
« on: March 17, 2014, 05:39:21 am »
My Aunt bought an old basket at an antique shop.  It was lined with an old newspaper.  Turns out it was the first ten page of a newspaper in Hawaii dated Dec 7th, 1941.  All ten pages have the same date.  Is there something on it that she could look for to see if it authentic?  At first I thought there was no way it could be real till I found out she had ten pages.  This has made me think twice about it.  Thanks!!

Sorry...If ALL of the pages are dated December 7 it is a REPRINT.
The original Sunday edition was basically the Saturday paper with a new front page regarding the attack. In order to rush the printing through, they simply removed the dates from the inside pages of the previous day's paper.

Which newspaper?  If memory serves me right there was a 2nd edition put out...

Can you please post a picture of the headline area?

She mailed the paper to me.  It was a reprint.  She seemed to have missed the picture on the back of the signing of the surrender in 1945.  Cheers!!
