Vintage Gardening Tool?

Hey guys. Measures approximately 17" long. Anybody willing to shed some light on this for me? Thank you! :D

Look under: "Barn Beam Auger Bit" and you should find it.

I think we have one in the garage somewhere !!  Not exactly a garden tool but could be useful in heavy clay soil to plant bulbs !! Not its intended use though !!

I have an auger bit for my drill Mart...and plant the bulbs in this variant Texas soil!  :)

In our sand I can just poke a hole with my finger !!  No tool needed !!
