Stickley Table and other items

[Mullen Coins]

I am not an antique specialist (I know coins and currency) - Buying a coin collection, my client had a number of very nice antiques which he would like to know more about.   Here are images of a Stickley Table and a couple of other unidentified pieces for which I am hoping the experts here might have some knowledge.  Also pictures of a Chappell Glass Chord Piano.

Is the table marked as Stickley and if so,, how ?? Really need to see the mark or label !! Looks to be a later set !
on the other furniture pieces,, need some closer detailed pics of hardware, inside with writing surface down on the secretaire, and the dovetails on the drawers !! Pic of the back would also help !!  The secretaire may have been faux painted,, can you tell ??

This piano is a collectible piece!  Chappell pianos were very fine pieces of workmanship!!!  The issue on this (to warrant the highest amount) will be the condition of the piano.  Majority of their pianos were made before 1890.

The table & chairs look like Stickley Brothers which is a very different company than Stickley.   I would like to see the label.  GG

It's impossible to tell for sure from one photo, but the slant front desk really does have the outward signs of being a nice curly maple William and Mary piece. The hardware and the lopers look like what you would expect to see on a desk of that type. Even looks like it has an old whale oil lamp sitting on top.

Can`t be sure about any of them Rauville,, pics do not enlarge for detail !!  I have seen some furniture quite similarly faux painted from the 30`s !! Will just have to wait for additional pics and info !!

I have to ask...is this a Glassichord???  If it is...oh my!  THESE ARE COLLECTIBLE!!!!!!!  There is one even in the Metropolitan Museum of Art!!!  Made by Chappell Co in EARLY 1800's - 1815 to be exact!!

Look inside the cabinet to see if there are glass rods instead of strings!

I am so excited....this is a beautiful piece of work irregardless of the type.  It also resembles the "Square" Piano that was so popular during the mid 1800's.  (The back pieces which look like fretwork and material covering the sound holes were used in the 1790's to early 1800's.)
Is it one solid piece or does the top (box) lift off the legs/stand?

I am not familiar with the term Glassichord but I do understand this to be a glass chord piano by Chappell.  And Yes, they are glass rods in the interior.   Here's a photo.

If they ever want to sell the Chappell piece, I would recommend that they send pictures and information to Bonhams, Christies, etc. to see if they would auction them.  It will give you an idea of the value.  These are in many museums around the world because they don't make glass chord pianos anymore.  Chappell made fine ones.

You can search Glassichord or glasschord and it will explain the mechanism of the early pianos.  These were made as early as late 1700's and were actually based on the idea of using glass by sound (Benjamin Franklin).  They are prized in people's collections.  Are the glass pieces blue?  

Is there any printing inside?  Could you find the serial number? (That will help you determine the date.)

Glass pieces are definitely blue and there appears to be a handwritten number 148 inside upper left... here is a larger picture for a different angle.

The previous questions, is the piano in two pieces?  Can you lift the top box off? (Be careful with the glass.)

Table is definitely Stickley and not Stickley brothers.   Here are couple more images.

Yes, the table is Stickley, matter of fact, they still make furniture today. This table is their cherry valley line of colonial revival styles introduced in the 1920's. Good solid furniture no doubt however, it is not to be confused with their craftsman/ Mission Oak furniture which they are rather famous for.
