Need Help Identifying This Item

I was wondering if anyone here could tell what this item is. I have no idea and I would really like to find out some info on it.

OK folks.. Here is a little better pics of it... It's 18" long and has some makers marks near the top which has a dogs head... I might add my wife thinks it's a husband beater... :o  ;D

I think your wife is right.  lol   Is it possibly for hanging umbrellas on?   That's what it reminds me of.

Curious mark with the crossed bones !! I have seen knives similar to this !! Turn the metal parts and pull and/or just pull apart ,,see if that's what it is !!   Where did you get this thing ??

I'm a custom knife maker.. Its not a dagger or any type of knife.. It's a freinds and we are trying to figure this thing out but not having much luck. Heres a couple more pics.. It does not come apart

OK everyone - I think I have it figured out.... I think its a vintage riding crop handle less the leather braid...

Not a riding crop that I have ever seen before and I have had horses since I was 10 years old !!  Way too heavy,, way too thick,, would not work !!

That's what I found yesterday when researching the mark !!  The crossbones and or skull & crossbones was a mark for the Third Reich of Nazi Germany !!  This was probably brought back as a souvenier after the war !!
