without a blacklight-does anyone know another way to check to see if this is vaseline?

I thought so....

any idea of how old?  what kind of a value?  I have to start parting with things....

Can you post a better pic on a white background. I can't see the true color. It appears to be an older piece so there is a good chance it is vaseline glass.

Your piece was produced by Imperial glass company,  from the photos It does  not  appear to be Vaseline glass but a shade of yellow they produced. it is called a rose bowl. you can try searching Imperial glass rose bowl and see if you can find a match for the pattern, they produced these rose bowls in many different patterns.  :)   good luck
