Pitcher
« on: October 02, 2014, 06:30:14 pm »
I have found a very heavy glass pitcher but can't find any makers marks on it. Does anyone have a clue as to the maker or how old .  I was told it was old .

I used to call them "Hotel Pitchers" as well. Every old hotel would use them in the rooms.

Used to see ones like this in the 50's & 60's , in cafes & diners , for iced tea , water & such (got that 'ice-catcher' spout on 'em) .

These were used in the food service industry for water, tea, juices and beer.

They do sell (low pricing) but are not as desirable as newer pitchers that are lighter to hold.

I remember them from 'beer night." You would pay a cover charge and they would keep filling them for free.
