Old dresser?

Interested in thoughts on the attached dresser... Possible time period, etc. It's solid oak and has no markings.

Late 20`s early 30`s !!  The part with the doors would be for hats ect !!  May have had a mirror attached,,look for screw holes on the back !! Furniture was rarely marked !!

$85. to $100. would be better !! Don`t think top knobs are original and would need restoring so deal on it !!

Thanks Mart I really do like it and haven't seen one like it. I like to keep things as close as possible to the original way that they were. So I probably won't do a lot of work to it.

There were some that were painted but if solid oak,, likely yours was not !!   Most of the painted ones were made with a mixture of woods !! But if you like the look,,leave it as-is !!  Just go with the shabby chic look !!

With the “flecking” off of the paint ….. and the painted hinges, …. I really don’t think it is “factory original”.

So I am guessing it is “Golden Oak” underneath the white paint.

It has character the way it is. I would clean it a bit and maybe put a coat of paste wax over the paint if it is chalky.

I like it. I would remove the paint and restore it to brown wood but I am crazy like that. Honestly- I love these old, solid wood dressers. For that price you can get a small, modern particle board dresser that will fall apart in a couple of years.

I would too but this one would be a beautiful honey gold color,,instead of brown !!
