Looking for info & value of floorlap
« on: December 05, 2014, 09:25:07 am »
hi everyone, a newb here.

my grandma has this floorlamp she'd like to sell, and we suspect it may be worth something.
it's about 6 feet tall, it has no stamping/engraving hinting at its origin or date.
as far its history goes, my grandma is a bit fuzzy on the details. they bought it from a neighbour about 40 years ago for $1000, she believes my grandpa rewired it and that it was originally bought in california.

any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Branden, and welcome;

Impressive lamp your Grandma has. If you try searching for "Blackamoor Lamp" you may be able to find something to compare to. This one has a "60's" vintage feel in my opinion. ???

Here's a pair priced at high retail!

it sounds like it's worth getting appraised to ensure she gets a fair price.
thanks Raulville!

For some reason I got to thinking about Jane Fonda with short shorts on singing "These boots were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do, and one of these days these boots are gonna' walk all over you.......

I agree about an appraisal!
