Vallauris! Faux or false? :)
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:19:07 am »
I have this bowl from my mom. Its bottom marked "Vallauris". She only confirms the bowl is old and made probably in the 50s or 60s.
Ive checked some places and i saw  the same item with the same, different(with the name or signature of the designer), or no mark  ??? So... authentic or nice replica?

Thank you!

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Thank you, KC :)
I know this.
It's not even bottom marked. It was sold for 50 USD.
There are sites where i see the same piece and items from the same collection which cost above 500 USD. But their marks look different than mine (contain the name of the designer) :(
So i'm confused about the origin of mine, beacuse i placed in on market for 80 USD and if its some kind of replica, I don't want to lie byers!

Thats why i need a more specific opinion :)

EDIT:
Here is how the mark of those which cost over 500 look:

And another - ink mark:

My bottom mark looks different. Mine is engraved and contains "vallauris" only:(

I just received an e-mail from the Vallauris Institute of Arts (V.I.A.).
The expert confirmed the piece as "authentic"  :D

Thank you for your help also!
