1906 Edwin M Knowles Pitcher and Basin
« on: March 17, 2015, 05:21:36 pm »
I have an Edwin M Knowles pitcher (14" tall) and basin that was probably my grandmother's wedding present in 1906.  Bottoms say semi vitreous. There is a matching cup and square saucer (5" tall) all in good condition.  They are white with blue trim.  They are shown in the attached photo.  What would they be worth at auction?

You have some very nice heirlooms there. In my area I would expect that set to bring around 150.00 more or less. Retail would be higher, around 200.00 to 250.00. I would be interested to hear others opinions. The other porcelain pieces are typical of the period. They look Austrian or German to me but they could be from anywhere.

Agree with the frogpatch.

Can you post pictures of the backs of the plates/bowl  (not necessary on the pitcher/basin).  We need to see the makers marks on the back.

Sorry, I do not have the china here to take photos.  They are consigned to a local auction (H&H Auctions, Newton KS) and I was interested to know what I might get for them.

Sorry I can't give you any more information without the maker's marks.  Depending on who made them can definitely make a difference in values.

Best of luck on your sales!
