I am utterly stunned !! HLC colored dinnerware !!

I bought a Collectors Encyclopedia of Fiesta for $.50 at the thrift store !! Though it would be a good reference book for the Fiesta Dinnerware line !!  When I started looking through it I was amazed at the scope of Homer Laughlin colored dinner ware and of all the additional companies they worked with and that used their shapes as blanks to decorate their own line of dinner ware !! Some of these pieces are stunning !! A few I had seen before but many I had not !! Its an older book but still full of information !! I know Mrs. Ghopper collects Fiesta but has anyone else run across things that look like Fiesta but just are not quite right ??  Some of these things are pricy !!

What's the name of the book?  I have often seen items at garage sales and estate sales I thought were Fiesta Ware but once I picked it up and looked at it I would be disappointed.  Would be great to have a book like yours!

It is the "Collectors Encyclopedia of Fiesta,,Tenth edition, and other colored dinnerware, Post 86 Fiesta, Laughlin art china" By Bob and Sharon Huxford !! Its an excellent explanatory book with all colored plates !! Gives info on all and discusses the rarity or not !!  See if your library has it !! You can probably find it on ebay or a later edition !! Its an excellent book !!  Also has value guide in back !!  Many of the lines had decals with Laughlin shapes and tells about the experimental pieces and those made for specific retailers !!

A great book bargain on your part, Mart. There are a good handful of Fiesta books out there.

Unfortunately, like everything else, Fiesta has lost value and is not collected like it once was. Nevertheless, nothing screams mid-20th century kitchen like those old 1930s and 40s colors.

Okay, that made me think of a set that I searched out years ago and never found another one like it.  This was found in the rafters of the cabin we inherited from hub's family.  Funny thing, last week we went out to dinner and found a set with one of the decals on it just like ours (but made differently - by different company).

In fact I will start a new posting on it!
