261 Steam Engin Collection
« on: June 28, 2016, 08:05:52 pm »
Hello,
I wonder if someone could say what an  approximate  value of this photograph is,  which is signed by photographer
John McFadden, the title "The 261 Steam Engine Collection",  and Plate # 18, all written in pencil.

I looked over Mr. McFadden's website and states there that he is working on a project to release new/more images but does not give a price list for any.
Thank you!

I don't see the photograph.

Here are some pictures. The print is behind a sealed clear envelope. If these are not good enough, I will take the picture out.

There's a John McFadden Railroad Museum in Mercersburg Pennsylvania. Don't know if its the same person, but it seems possible:

Also, there's an organization called "Friends of the 261" that is involved in restoring and showcasing this particular locomotive. They may be able to shed some light as well.

Cool stuff!  Unfortunately, I doubt if your rendering is too old or valuable.

Thanks mart!  I did email. He and I had a brief discussion about his work and the picture I have, but when I learned about his personal loss of a loved one, and by the sound of it, still healing, I did not feel that I could ask any more at that time.
He was not publicly selling when I emailed. His web site says he is - or was - working on a collection for the future.
The photograph that I have was created by him while he train traveled. It is part of a collection.
He is very nice and willing to discuss preparing a collection to sell for example  but again, timing wasn't right.
