Heavy old wall mirror
« on: September 17, 2016, 03:37:45 pm »
I bought this mirror today at an antique store. It measures about 40" by 18", and weighs about 20 lbs. I think it's maybe sixty or seventy years old, and is anice quality decorative item. There is a stamp on the back that says "Schotts Furniture Hanover Pa". I was wondering what something like this is worth. I paid $35 and that seemed like a good deal

Many of these had a console table and were used as hall or entryway sets !! Made in the 30`s to early 40`s !!  Based on furniture of Duncan Phyfe !!  I had a similar set with the table !!  The table I had could be moved away from the wall then turn the top and open to make a card table !! Mine had the lyre shaped base !!
At $35. you got a pretty good deal !! The mirrors usually run $50. to $65. if in excellent condition !!  Yours looks to be in good shape !!

Thanks. I'd been looking at it every time I went in the store for a while, figured i'd better just buy it.
