Help identifying plate
« on: November 05, 2016, 04:50:33 am »
Several years ago, my Mum bought a plate of unknown origin. We have been trying to find any information about said plate, and haven't found anything. There are no markings on the back, but on the front there is a name which looks like "Ruffaillo" followed by what looks like a "C" and two dots. I have taken photos of the front and back of the plate, plus close ups of the front rim detail plus the signature.

Any help to find out anything about the plate would be greatly appreciated.

I have been searching for Italian Renaissance to no avail.

Raffaillo is usually spelled Raffaello but does look like an "i" on your plate! Italian name.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I could not find the plate in the shop any more, but I think this could be the maker: http://www.misterimprese.it/umbria/perugia/deruta/ceramiche-artistiche/1415431.html . The style is Deruta for sure. Mat
