Pottery/jugs-needing help identifying
« on: December 06, 2016, 01:36:52 pm »
Was given these after someone passed, and am not sure where they originated from, or really much about them at all. I looked all over the Internet, but couldn't find anything quite like them. If anyone here has any feedback, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you.

What country are you in and what can you tell us about the person who passed ??  They are quite well done but culturally say very little !!

I'm in the United States, in Wisconsin. The person who passed was an uncle who I know little about. He did do a lot of traveling. Most of the other items that came with these in the box consisted of more clearly columbian artifacts, Aztec and Asian type pottery/figures.

I like those. The sort of thing that might be more valuable than you'd expect.

I'm UK but i'll have a Google later.

Hi Jillanneduncan!  Welcome to the forum.

Can you please tell us the size of each piece?  Also, a picture of the "faces" on the containers - looking straight onto face.  These pics should help us!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Here are some closer photos of them both. They are about the size of a very small coffee pot. Or a cantaloupe :)

If the first ones are Aztec they may have been used for  chocolate/cocoa  which was very valuable and used by many of the rulers !!  I think I would take these to a museum that specializes in South American artifacts !!  Or at least send pics to one !!
