I have a 24kt gold dipped centerpiece that has a stamp with Le mieux china on it. It looks very old and I can't seem to get any information on it. It has handpainted pictures on both sides and also inside. Where can i find out more about this Item. If anyone has information, please contact me at ramirez492003@yahoo.com

aside from shape & size, are there enough similarities in style, finish, the painted design? Can you post pics? And of the backstamp as well? KB

I wasn't very successful in finding items by Le Mieux in spite of using 2 search engines. All my favorite informative antiques sites came up blank too. Same questions I would pose tho'. A pic of the backstamp. Country of origin listed if any. Please look at the reference I gave the original poster - similarity in style? I will run another search & see if I can come up with any other item. I remember researching this only one other time in the last 4 or 5 years and don't recall the outcome only the name. KB

okay good ol' e-bay never lets me down - I found a teaset with glasses and what they called ashtrays sold for $29.95. Other items were a vase - candleholder - dresser tray - and of course I got to see the backstamp - these items all sold for or are priced to sell at the decorative type item prices rather than antiques. After 1891 all imports to the USA had to have the country of origin - thus you see items marked with a backstamp and also Nippon - - or England - or Bavaria etc. If the mark isn't permanently "painted" or "embossed" into the bottom it was supposed to have a sticker. So the following may well be the origin - made in the USA in the 20th century. Or made in Southeast Asia and the label has washed off over the years. Best wishes with your continued searches.
