17th century ? figurine with n mark
« on: June 13, 2018, 01:36:49 pm »
Hello,

This figurine was giving to our church as part of a fundraiser.  Could you please tell me what it is worth, and if anyone is interested in buying it.  The Figurine has an n mark with a 5 pointed crown on the bottom.

Thank you.

https://www.google.com/search?q=Capodimonte+N+mark&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b

Well.. I see you made it here !!  Thats wht I thought it was but needed to see it to make sure !!  Capodimonte is not a brand name but is a region in Italy !!  The mark certifies that it was made by one of the factories/studios there !!  You used to be able to tell capodimonte by the style  but this piece is 20th century and has a more modern look and few of the applied pieces that the older capo did !! This one was probably made mid 20th century !!

Thank you. It took someone with a lot more technological expertise  than I am to post on both sites you recommended! Could you tell me the value or what I could expect to get for it?

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=capodimonte+figurines&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1

Here is the listing for those that have sold recently !!  Those by a known artist and a few of the more original ones sell well !!  But the unsigned and later ones have been running $30. or less !!  I think yours would bring somewhere in the $30. range give or take a few dollars !!  I would list it at $49.99 OBO  and see where it goes !!
