Hi All, first forum, first post, yikes, scary stuff! I had an estate sale last weekend as my parents are both gone now and it is time to sell their condo. They had a lot of mid-century modern furniture they brought with them when the moved from Germany (where my Dad was stationed in the early 60's). They always said it was teak furniture, I don't know whether someone was scamming them or if that was just the standard wood in the day.............on further inspection it is Rosewood, looks like teak. On the first morning someone walked in a commented on the "goldmine" we were sitting on which led me to take the 250$ price on the Randers Mobelfabrik Rosewood table with 8 chairs and the 500$ off the Lyby Moblar China Cabinet. I also have a complete set of bedroom furniture, dresser w/mirror, 5 drawer chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, 2 twin headboards (my Mom and Dad pushed them together for a King Size look) same design circa 1960's, made in Denmark, in the living room we have a bi-level corner table, set of 3 small stacking tables, ..........
Now I'm faced with trying to figure out, not what they are worth, that is easy looking on eBay and some of the other antique sites. I need to know how I can sell them in my area for a price that people will be willing to pay w/o giving them away?
Are they valuable enough that I need to pay for storage until I find the right buyer or do I take the best offer I can in the local area?
The timing is critical, we are suppose to have everything emptied out of the condo by Monday! Hoping that this forum can help me decide what to do next??
thank you so much for your advice and coaching as I move forward,
marta
